I found this place and I think for anyone who's feeling adventurous and fancies a bit of camping but the idea of damp, collapsing tents and midnight trips to the toilet block a little bit off-putting should have a go at this:

Should also be considered an added bonus that you won't have to cope with a bunch of pissed up students being sick on your tent in the middle of the night. Also looks like great fun for the kids, lots of animals to see and little projects to get into. Would love to hear from anyone who has been???

... and if that's full try WOWO at Wapsbourne Farm in Sussex - same as manor Court Farm but on a bigger scale. Lots of rope swings etc too...

I'm hesitant to add these, because I'm enjoying them being my own little secret, but also try:

Manor Court Farm - http://www.manorcourtfarm.co.uk/ -small site, great facilities and best of all they let you have campfires which means you don't all want to go to bed when the sun goes down (especially when the alternative is sitting out huddled round a gas lamp). Just been there this weekend with my three boys and one of their mates - lots of sharpening sticks with penknives, burning lumps of wood, telling jokes round the campfire, etc. We even built a shelter in the woods - you really can't beat it!

Nice! I've not been there but did come across a similar place - accommodation in lodges. Semi-camping you might call it... but this is complete with Spa and Waterslide park. That takes care of wives and kids. If it has a sofa/coffee/newspapers section, I'll be booking shortly:
